## 1. Overview

My Corner is a private journaling app that lets users write text records and, if they choose, attach audio recordings. We respect the personal nature of the information users may choose to save in the app.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared with service providers, and what choices users have.

## 2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide, maintain, and improve the Service.

### Information you provide or create

- Journal records: text content, record ID, creation time, update time, deletion status, deletion time, and related sync metadata.
- Audio recording metadata: whether a record has audio and the audio duration.
- Audio recordings: audio files are saved on your device only. In the current version of the app, audio files are not uploaded to our cloud database or storage.
- Sensitive information you choose to enter: journal entries may include sensitive or special-category information if you choose to write it. We do not require you to enter such information.
- Contact inquiries: inquiry content and an optional email address if you choose to provide one.
- Social account linking information: if you link Google or Apple, we may receive the linked provider, email address, account linking dates, and authentication identifiers provided through Supabase, Google, or Apple.

### Information collected automatically

- Anonymous authentication ID and session information created through Supabase when the app starts.
- App settings stored on your device, such as language, theme, onboarding status, and save confirmation preferences.
- Analytics events, such as app open, screen views, screen duration, onboarding completion, recording start/stop, audio duration range, save actions, text length, account-link attempts, account-link success, platform, language, and record identifiers used for event logging.
- Technical information that may be collected by analytics and backend providers, such as app instance identifiers, device information, IP address, crash or diagnostic information, and network request metadata.

We do not intentionally send journal text content or audio files to Firebase Analytics or Amplitude.

## 3. Microphone Permission

The app requests microphone permission only when you use the audio recording feature. If you do not grant microphone permission, you can still use text journaling features. You can change microphone permission at any time in your device settings.

## 4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

- provide journaling, audio recording, record list, settings, and account-linking features;
- save records locally on your device;
- sync text records and related metadata to the cloud when you link a social account;
- restore text records after reinstalling the app or changing devices when cloud sync is available;
- receive and respond to contact inquiries;
- operate, secure, debug, and maintain the Service;
- understand aggregate product usage and improve the app experience.

### Legal bases where required

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on the following bases: providing the Service and performing our agreement with you, your consent where required, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

## 5. Cloud Sync and Local Audio Storage

By default, records are stored locally on your device. If you link a social account, text records and related metadata may be synced with Supabase so that they can be restored later.

Audio recording files are stored only on the device where they were recorded. The current app does not upload audio files to Supabase Storage or any other cloud storage. If you delete the app, reset app data, or lose access to the device, locally stored audio files may no longer be available.

## 6. Service Providers and Third-Party Services

We may use the following service providers to operate the Service:

- Supabase: authentication, anonymous sign-in, social account linking, database storage, cloud sync, and contact inquiry storage. See [Supabase Privacy Notice](<https://supabase.com/privacy>).
- Firebase Analytics: app analytics and event measurement. See [Firebase Privacy and Security](<https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy>) and [Google Privacy Policy](<https://policies.google.com/privacy>).
- Amplitude: product analytics and event measurement. See [Amplitude Privacy Notice](<https://amplitude.com/privacy>).
- Google and Apple: social account linking or platform authentication, if selected by the user. See [Google Privacy Policy](<https://policies.google.com/privacy>) and [Apple Privacy Policy](<https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/en-ww/>).

We do not sell personal information. We do not share journal text or audio files with advertisers.

## 7. International Processing

Our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States or the region configured for our cloud services. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and service provider commitments for international processing.

## 8. Retention and Deletion

- Local records and audio files remain on your device until you delete them, reset app data, uninstall the app, or otherwise remove the app's local storage.
- Synced text records and related metadata are retained while your linked account or cloud sync data remains active, unless you delete or reset your data.
- Contact inquiries are retained for as long as needed to respond and maintain support history, generally up to 12 months after resolution unless a longer period is required by law.
- Analytics data is retained according to our Firebase and Amplitude retention settings and may be kept in aggregated or de-identified form.

If you use the in-app Reset Data feature, the app is designed to delete local records, local audio files, cloud records, sync status, linked profile information, contact inquiries associated with your user ID, and the related Supabase user account, then create a new anonymous session.

If you unlink a social account, future cloud sync from that device stops. Previously synced records may remain on the server until you reset data or request deletion.

## 9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, or a complaint to a privacy authority.

You can also:

- delete individual records in the app;
- reset all app data in settings;
- revoke microphone permission in device settings;
- unlink a social account in settings;
- contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at [email protected].

## 10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 14 or the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

## 11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Local data is protected by the app sandbox and your device security settings. Cloud data is protected through service provider security controls, authentication, and database access rules. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

## 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide notice where appropriate.
